Price Of Hectare Of Land In Brazil Sets Record

The value of a hectare of land in Brazil is booming. The average price of properties hit a record in late 2010, according to research from Informa Economics / FNP. Southeast, Northeast and North are the areas where the value of ha more increased: the price has doubled between January and December last year.
The biggest change occurred in Aripuanã (MT), where the price of unimproved land in more remote areas increased from 170 reais to 350 reais p/ha; an increase of 105.6%.
The survey mapped to view the prices of deals in 133 microregions of Brazil. The average price per hectare reached 5,017 reais in last two months of 2010, an increase of 9.1% compared to January of that year. However, average national land prices have risen 44.3% in nominal terms (7.6% per year in real terms) over the past 36 months as of mid-2009.
